Across the nation, Scholarship America's programs -- including Dollars for Scholars -- have given out $2.5 billion to nearly 2 million students since its founding 50 years ago.

In our community, our chapter has made a big impact on the lives of students as well. The Syracuse Chapter has awarded more than $60,000 in scholarships since its inception in 2003!

How can you make a difference?

  • Make a one-time donation. Any amount is appreciated, whether you can afford to give $10 or $1000.

  • Pledge an annual, tax-deductible gift. Simply pledge an ongoing, annual gift in any amount you choose. You'll be recognized as a "benefactor" who helps fund scholarships over the long-term.

  • Establish a "named" scholarship in honor of your family, a loved one, or an organization. This level of giving requires a donation of $500 or more. You can choose to review the applications and select a recipient yourself, or you can let the Dollars for Scholars Scholarship Committee take care of everything for you.

What's unique about this program?

It gives everyone the opportunity to have a positive impact on the lives of deserving young people - regardless of the amount you can afford to donate. And, all donations are tax-deductible.

Combining smaller contributions into one collective fund makes it possible to award scholarships that for some graduating seniors, may be the difference between going to college or spending a lifetime working for minimum wage. That's why we encourage you to give generously. Take this opportunity to help local students see that we believe in them and care about their future!
